ABOUT THIS ROLE

As M&A Financial Analyst you will be responsible for preparing financial analyses and valuation models in support of A-LIGN’s due diligence on M&A opportunities. 

As a key member of the deal team, you will work collaboratively across key company functions as well as our PE partner (Warburg Pincus) to develop and drive the execution of detailed financial models and projections including scenario-based analytics and synergy identification. 

You will be responsible for running valuation and financial model efforts throughout the deal lifecycle; from collecting and analyzing pre-LOI due diligence information, through post deal execution and synergy tracking. You will continually update and refine A-LIGN’s M&A modeling processes to drive increased efficiency, efficacy, and scale. 

In this role you will support Corporate Development in several areas, including but not limited to: providing analytical support in due diligence related to the screening and evaluation of acquisition candidates for strategic fit and business case development as well as developing presentations to facilitate investment decisions. 

The ideal candidate will have experience actively supporting M&A transactions and driving collaboration with cross-functional business teams through financial analysis and valuation and operational modeling processes. The ability to communicate clearly and thoughtfully is paramount. You must be comfortable with ambiguity and exhibit superior organization and project management skills along with the ability to manage multiple deals concurrently.  

This position will be based in our Tampa, Florida office (or potentially virtually) and report directly to A-LIGN’s VP of Financial Planning & Analysis with a dotted line to Global Head of Corporate Development. 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to translate acquisition data into detailed valuation models. 
  • Support the due diligence process by working closely with the Global Head of Corporate Development and the VP of FP&A to analyze the financial and operating data of potential acquisition targets in developing the business case. 
  • Drive the acquisition analytics and modeling through collaboration across multi-functional teams adhering to deliverable requirements and tight time schedules, hitting target milestones, proactively taking ownership of risks and issues, and by facilitating effective outcomes. 
  • Prepare and be able to have executive level discussion regarding the modeling, including the inherent assumptions and outcomes based on multiple scenarios. 
  • Developing tracking for achievement of planned acquisition synergies and budgeted integration costs.  

Experience 

  • 3-5+ years of Mergers & Acquisitions buy-side acquisition modeling experience. 
  • Advanced research, financial modeling, and valuation skills. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking – Ability to identify and articulate key investment considerations and risks in different industries and businesses. 
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to distill large amounts of information into coherent written summary and meeting presentations for senior executives. 
  • Bachelor's degree, with a major in business, finance, accounting, or economics; Master's degree highly desired. 

Preferred 

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, private-equity environment and professional service businesses preferred.
