What We Are Looking For

Index Exchange is seeking an in-house Creative Director based in New York City to lead the creative vision for all global projects and manage the process from conceptualization through implementation and production for all print and digital marketing projects for Index Exchange.  Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Creative Director role is a senior role at Index and will be responsible for the conception and execution of high quality, creative and professional-looking marketing and communications materials for all of Index’s global offices. The Creative Director will work closely with other members of the marketing team to oversee the development of all print and digital assets for Index - projects spread across web, email, ads, campaigns and brand identity to experiential design for screens, devices and spaces.

You should be confident in your creative abilities, able to incorporate brand guidelines into your work, and comfortable presenting your ideas to peers and senior leaders while making revisions and refinements from project start to project completion.

You Will

  • Own the brand, bleed the brand, be the brand, and protect the brand
  • Act as the conceptual leader and lead creative decision maker on all design projects
  • Realize the brand vision and marketing objectives through strong concepts and executions
  • Serve as the creative leader for the Index Exchange brand while developing, mentoring and managing our marketing creative team
  • Proven ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team, grow the team as needed, and act as a mentor to junior staff
  • Lead brand look/feel/voice across all platforms and channels
  • Reports state of current projects to VP, Marketing and Communications on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with VP, Marketing and Communications and various MarComm Directors to oversee design and produce print and web materials including event invitations, sponsorship ads, social media assets, various images and branding assets, logos, etc. including on site at Index events
  • Spreads expertise, passion, and innovation throughout the project team and the MarComm Department
  • Remain current on emerging design trends in digital technology to bring consistently fresh thinking and ideas to the team
  • Coordinate with the Director of Product Marketing for the creation of all sales materials - presentations, one sheets, case studies, etc - as needed to support various Index Teams
  • Oversee consistency and adherence to brand guidelines and standards - be the brand police!
  • Liaise with external creative partners and act as the key point of contact for all creative projects

You Have

  • Minimum of 5-7  years design experience, preferably embedded within a brand
  • Ability to handle pressure and deadlines well, and avoid being a bottleneck. Everything visual will need your okay. And we do a lot, every day. You need to be fast, efficient, and good with high pace
  • Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign) and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Stays current with changes in technology and demonstrates technical competencies - it is key to keep someone passionate about the art, keeps afloat of trends etc.
  • Quality oriented with high attention to detail to enable an independent risk mitigated workflow especially as it relates to deliverables
  • Understanding of brand representation within internal and external projects  
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail while executing design concepts
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining tight deadlines
  • Positive, can-do, self-starter attitude
  • Thoughtful, business-minded approach to creative design
  • Must possess a proven portfolio
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
