Whalar empowers creators, brands, and platforms to tap new areas of innovation and drive business growth together. We do this through our six divisions: brand partnerships, talent management, proprietary technology, a creator-centric venture studio, a gaming studio, and a physical campus for creators. As a result, we have the best understanding, the most access, and the earned trust of creators. We're a curious, diverse team of 300 individuals united by one belief: Everything Is Better With Creators.

We Liberate the Creative Voice. We are Whalar.

About the role:

As a Creative Strategist at Whalar, you'll be part of our dynamic Creative Strategy team within Brand Partnerships. You’ll dive deep into the creator-first vision for brands, generating culture and community insights, crafting compelling campaign strategies, and providing thoughtful recommendations from idea inception to execution. Your role is not just about ideation; it's about bringing these stories to life with intention and craft, ensuring Whalar continues to be a breakthrough in the creator economy and cultural trends.

Your responsibilities will extend to participating in pitches, shaping inventive campaigns, and contributing to creator briefings.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Spearhead social media and influencer strategies for clients
  • Unpack client briefs, precisely identifying strategic outcomes and necessary steps for achievement
  • Transform insights from Whalar's strategic analyses into distinctive strategies, breakthrough creative, and positioning for clients
  • Collaborate with Whalar's Research & Measurement teams to develop insightful approaches
  • Provide support to Director of Creative Strategy
  • Participate and facilitate brainstorming and ideation sessions, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Develop creative strategies, outlining specific approaches to leverage talent for effective audience connection.
  • Craft clear briefs to guide content output from internal teams and creators that is creative and on-strategy
  • Contribute to campaign wrap reports, summarizing key learnings and providing actionable recommendations.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in social media and content strategy, ideally within the creator economy (but not mandatory)
  • Fluency in social media platforms and their unique dynamics, including extensive knowledge of user behaviors and platform features
  • Deep understanding of what makes successful content on social media, from content themes/types to platform best practices
  • Experience working with various consumer brands/verticals at the same time
  • A natural curiosity and love of research, you are a culture nerd who is able to translate data and trends into actionable insights and weave together a compelling narrative
  • You can concept, write, build, and present original insights-based ideas clearly and concisely
  • You have a solid understanding of the social media advertising ecosystem and industry innovations
  • You thrive in an environment where collaboration, flexibility and scrappiness are valued more than job titles
  • You have outstanding interpersonal skills, a relentless work ethic, a spirit of collaboration and a ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality with the flexibility to support any size project
  • You are a curious and enthusiastic self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude

The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 and serves as a general guideline reflecting the potential compensation for the role. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, expertise, alignment with the position's requirements, and ultimately budget approvals.
