We’re building an amazing team in London and we’re looking for an ambitious and purpose-driven Credit Risk Analyst to jump on board.

Reporting to the Credit Risk Manager, the Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for assisting the review of Tandem’s credit policies and asset quality and contributing to periodic regulatory requirements.

A unique opportunity to translate your experience within Analytical Risk Management into a Fintech environment. This exciting position sits within the 2nd line of defence and will give you exposure to a range of consumer credit portfolios and a fascinating opportunity to learn how risk is managed in a fast-paced new age bank.

It is important that you have strong analytical skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment in order to provide credit oversight to a variety of internal and external portfolios. Policies ranging from acquisition to impairment.

Our team

You will be joining a growing Credit Risk Oversight team that is part of a wider Risk team including Compliance and Enterprise Risk.

The 11 strong team contains employees with a broad range of skills from highly analytical to experts in conduct and policy oversight.

On a daily basis you will work closely with the Credit Risk Manager providing valuable insight and challenge into the banks Credit policies and asset quality for the Chief Risk Officer.

 

What you will be working on:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Review asset quality for secured and unsecured portfolios.
  • Run ad-hoc analysis to understand drivers of movements in portfolio performance.
  • Review policies and processes for underwriting, collections and account management.
  • Support the build of risk reward models and setting return hurdles.
  • Build the bank’s credit risk appetite framework.
  • Support the due diligence process for portfolio acquisition.

 

What we're looking for:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:

Essential:

  • Prior experience of hands-on credit risk management in a retail lending environment.
  • Experience of mortgages, particularly, BTL mortgages preferred.
  • Strong intellect, excellent communication skills and energy.
  • Strong knowledge of a data-mining tools; SQL, SAS.
  • Must be a confident user in Excel.
  • Science, Maths or Engineering degree.
  • Live and breathe the Tandem values in every aspect of delivery.

Desirable:

  • Experience in using NPV models for credit products.
  • Experience of working with statistical models e.g. logistical regression, churn analysis, decision tree, survival analysis.
  • Experience of policy and oversight.
  • Exposure to capital and liquidity preferred but not necessary.
  • Policy documentation.
