Job Overview

Casper is looking for a Lead to build our Customer Insights team from the ground up (including hiring at least 1 direct report in the first 6 months). The Lead will report to the VP of Data and Analytics. This position will collaborate with all areas of the company, from marketing to physical product development, to improve the business based on customer insights. This position requires a combination of business knowledge and technical skills.

Customer Insights team responsibilities include:

  • Be passionate about the customer. You should understand the Casper Customer better than anyone in the company
  • Develop detailed, actionable personas that can be used throughout the business
  • Develop omni-channel customer journey maps. Connecting the offline and online shopping journey will be key to our success as a company
  • Understand how to translate broad, strategic business questions into a research plan and drive market research projects from start to finish
  • Own surveying across the business, including NPS, brand strength monitor and demographic surveys
  • Select and implement a 3rd party DMP. Act as internal owner and continue to evolve the DMP
  • Mine first party and third party data for high potential segments. Work with other areas of business (e.g., Acquisition, Retention and CX) to activate those segments
  • Partner with Casper’s very quantitative Marketing Analytics, Customer Acquisition and Retention teams


  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Management Consultant
  • Knowledgeable about customer segmentation
  • Expert in survey building and analysis tools
  • Expert in Excel and SQL
  • Bonus points for experience with Python or R
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership qualities
  • Flexible, adaptable, able to work in an entrepreneurial environment
