About the Role:

The Capsule data team is expanding. Our data engineering team is responsible for transforming data into insights and data products. As a Data Analyst you would be responsible for working cross functionally to help source data, certify and maintain providence and quality, and enable analytic use cases.

  • Work with our Insights, product, and engineering teams to identify analytic use cases, mapping them to existing data warehouse capabilities or creating requirements for new features.
  • Identify, source, and profile source data, develop data lineage and driving queries for new data warehouse domains, working closely with data architects and engineers.
  • Develop and execute test plans to assure data quality.
  • Automation of tests for the monitoring of ongoing data quality within a data observability framework.

Requirements:

  • You have experience in an analytical, database development, or engineering role
  • You have expertise in SQL, with the ability to perform analysis and write complex transformations using the full breadth of the SQL language
  • You are proficient in excel, and experienced with a business intelligence/data visualization tool (ie PowerBI, Tableau,..), Looker prefered.
  • You have a basic working knowledge of a general purpose programming language (Python, Java, Scala, Go, Ruby, C++, etc…), Python preferred.
  • You are comfortable dealing with complex data, both structured and semi-structured (json)
  • You have experience validating quality on analytic platform, Great Expectations a plus
  • You have a strong business reasoning and understand the necessary tradeoffs that go into analytic projects.
  • You have experience communicating and translating business needs into analytic and engineering requirement
