Data Center Subject Matter Expert (SME) REMOTE

Key Responsibilities:
•Data Center Assessment: Evaluate and assess data center facilities and service providers for security, performance, and capabilities. This includes on-site inspections, documentation review, and coordination with stakeholders.
•Security Analysis: Conduct comprehensive security assessments of data center facilities to ensure they meet industry standards and compliance requirements. Identify vulnerabilities and recommend security improvements
•Capability Evaluation: Analyze data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, redundancy, and network connectivity, to determine its ability to meet our operational requirements and growth projections
•Offering Comparison: Compare and contrast various data center service offerings, pricing structures, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to identify the best-fit solutions for the organization.
•Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with data center providers, vendors, and industry experts to stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in data center services.
•Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed reports and documentation of findings, including risk assessments, performance evaluations, and recommendations. Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
•Project Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data center-related projects, such as migrations, expansions, or consolidations. Provide technical expertise and guidance.
•Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in data center management. Suggest and implement improvements in data center operations and strategy.

Required Skills/Must Have (e.g., X technical skills, experience with Y projects, Z certification or license) 

•Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology).
•Extensive experience (5+ years) in data center operations, design, or management.
•In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization.
•Strong understanding of data center security protocols, compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2), and best practices.
•Experience with data center assessment methodologies and tools.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Skills/Nice to Have (e.g., experience in Y, familiarity with X programming language)
•Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Center Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are advantageous.
•Project management experience is a plus.
