We’ve opened a new Data Engineer role here at ZOZI to work across multiple business units, engage with various departments and executive leaders and take ownership of building something from the ground up that makes an impact on the entire business. This role is so critical that your insights and recommendations will drive many of the company’s business strategy decisions.

 

What you will do:

ZOZI is growing quickly across our B2B and our B2C product lines and we need someone to integrate our information in a cohesive and strategic way by designing, building, and utilizing the ZOZI data warehouse to enable ZOZI to make intelligent data-driven decisions.

You will be responsible for three business critical roles in this position such as:

Data architecture and engineering:

  • Work with engineers and product managers to understand data and data needs
  • Design and implement Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Integrate Enterprise Data Warehouse with production systems and reporting systems
  • Design and implement ETL processes
  • Design and implement reporting and business intelligence tools
  • Define and champion data integrity processes to identify and avoid potential data errors
  • Champion Data Governance board and processes

Business analytics:

  • Perform platform-performance analyses to understand usage behaviors on our platform and determine ways to optimize the user experience
  • Interact and advise ZOZI executive leadership on ways to improve customer acquisition and retention

Internal Reporting:

  • Interact with key stakeholders across the company to define key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Design and automate KPI and financial reporting

 

What we expect to see?

  • 4+ years relevant work experience that includes extensive engineering, business intelligence, and/or business analytics responsibilities
  • Experience with database architecture - strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling for transactional databases
  • Proven ability in translating business requirements into functional data models
  • Expert SQL skills – ability to write efficient queries and optimize existing queries
  • Experience with programming languages
  • Ability to perform analyses on data and deliver actionable data-driven insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication on technical topics
  • Technical degree (engineering/CS/math/stats)

 

What would really impress us?

  • Experience with statistical modeling
  • Understanding of financial reporting needs and best practices
  • Experience with any/all of the following toolsets:
    • MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
    • Sisense business intelligence tool
    • R
    • Salesforce
    • Google Analytics
