Let's be candid: The product we're building is a little more complex to use than just installing it on your iPhone. Our product is the beating heart of all law enforcement activities, and that means having capabilities that allow a motorcycle cop to hand out speeding tickets, a patrol officer to respond to and document a domestic violence dispute, and a homicide detective to track and solve a case. We're also working with large, complex organizations who have strong opinions about how and when things should work. All of those things require someone who can span the user- and customer-focused elements of a traditional Product Manager role and also take on project and customer leadership.
As we build this team and product from scratch, our deployments leader will also be tasked with building the team necessary to execute multiple major deployments in parallel. The ideal colleague for this role is someone who is equally comfortable in the team room whiteboarding developer tools, meeting with and presenting to senior customer stakeholders, and problem-solving and prioritizing work with deployed engineers. To manage all of that requires great project tracking skills, proven experience managing teams, customers, and software development, and a logical, orderly mind ready to put some structure to the entropy we'll constantly face as we scale.
