Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated Design Quality Inspector to join its User Experience department. The Design Quality Inspector will be responsible for helping improve desktop, mobile and web applications and identifying issues and inconsistencies that users may face. The ideal candidate should have an eye for detail, an understanding of design principles and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment independently or with a team, while being able to adapt to changing priorities.

Candidates will be asked to submit a portfolio with submission of application to showcase the understanding of design principles and the ability to identify findings and communicate improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing interface and workflows of new and existing features of desktop, web and mobile applications to identify design inconsistencies and/or user experience issues
  • Documenting findings, proposing improvements and communicating them to project owners and the design and development teams
  • Researching best practices and analyzing interface design in competitive applications
  • Creating wireframes and specifications for improvements
  • Analyzing user feedback and proposing improvements
  • Conducting usability tests with users and communicating findings as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience with and knowledge of Wolfram products
  • Familiarity with design principles for mobile, desktop and web platforms
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven ability and the desire to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to create flow diagrams and wireframes to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Experience with design analysis and user experience testing is a plus
  • Experience working with the Wolfram Language is a plus
