Kong is looking for an energetic and self-motivated writer, editor, and content marketer to join our growing global team. This role is critical to managing the content strategy for Kong’s Developer Marketing team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about creating content that helps developers across all aspects of their user journey from bringing in new users to creating a positive experience for existing ones. This includes working with a diverse team of Developer Advocates and content producers.
This individual should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong understanding of how content influences the buyer journey, and a dedication to helping others create quality content.
What You'll Be Doing
Own and maintain the editorial calendar for developer content including blog posts, videos, etc.
Work with Developer Advocates and content producers to plan topics, outline content structure, and ensure timely deliverables
Identify and fill any content gaps in campaigns that touch all parts of the user journey
Edit blog posts for spelling/grammar, flow, and SEO and provide ongoing coaching to the content producers
Partner with the Marketing Communications team to draft speaking abstracts for executives and engineers
Research and monitor SEO keywords and industry trends to help inform the content strategy
Measure and report results using Google Analytics and SEO metricsCreate and execute on content promotion plans, including optimizing referral traffic
Experience with video editing and multimedia content strategies
What You'll Bring
3-5 years of experience as a content marketer or in a related role
Background in communications, journalism, technical writing, English or related areas
Experience building SEO-driven inbound content and campaigns, include experience in a variety of content mediums (blog, social, video, case studies, ebooks, etc.)
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience working with remote team members
Proven experience as a project manager in a cross-functional role
Ability to coach writers on SEO, narrative flow, and building an engaging personal writing style
Enthusiasm to stay on top of the latest trends including the ability to spot bleeding edge topic and content opportunities
Data-driven approach to content creation, promotion, and reporting
Proven ability to learn new technical concepts and rapidly drive impact
Domain experience in the cloud and SaaS space, including self-serve models a plus
Experience working with developers and technical leaders
Technical writing experience
