About the team

The DevOps Analyst will be a new role in our Technical Services (TS) team, who are our small resident team of technical experts. TS work closely with our clients both during and post implementation to ensure they have the technical aspects of their projects run smoothly, as well as providing assistance to our Support and Product teams on system issues. The DevOps Analyst will also work closely with our local Product and Support teams, as well as the North American based Engineering team.

About the role

This role will be working across a variety of technologies and situations to support, maintain and improve the architecture supporting our web and mobile applications. More specifically this will involve:

  • Providing server support during various operations such as incidents, deployment and general production.
  • Managing and monitoring AWS services.
  • Collaborating with developers to make sure environments meet requirements and conform to best practices.
  • Automating processes and deployment of applications, system configurations and security settings.
  • Communicating between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What we are looking for in a DevOps Analyst

We're looking for someone self driven and proactive with a strong technical background who can bridge the gap between different groups to collaboratively solve problems, and bring the skills, services and knowledge from the North American teams to Australia. More specifically you will have:

  • A degree or diploma in computer science or engineering, or demonstrated learning experience. 
  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience with Linux server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of primary AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, etc.).
  • Proficiency with APIs / microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of system/network security and data backup/recovery.
  • Ability to create scripts using Python & Bash.
  • The ability to work with global teams – you understand the challenges working across time zones and cultures.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills – every question has an answer & you will either find it or create it.
  • Excellent communication skills – you communicate complexity verbally and in writing in a way that everyone can understand.
  • Great interpersonal skills – you proactively build and maintain relationships.
  • Drive, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

It would also be great if you experience working in health or aged care.
