DevOps Engineer

Five billion people do not have access to safe surgery. Digital Surgery is on a mission to change that, by assisting surgical teams in making safe, informed surgical decisions. As a DevOps Engineer within Digital Surgery’s innovation team, you will be responsible for supporting the deployment and productization of our computing systems in the operating room. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who wants to help us make a difference by improving the standard of surgical care around the world. Core responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automation tools (infrastructure as code, patching, automated setup, etc.).
  • Manage the development and support of infrastructure release management and operations.
  • Work closely with our systems and software engineers to create solutions for updating and deploying to remote systems.
  • Establish infrastructure health reporting to provide monitoring and remote assistance using self-healing infrastructure principles (system rescue, bug reporting, log capture, etc.).


  • Substantial experience working with containers and AWS services (Docker, AWS AMI, EC2, S3) and continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Packer, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working efficiently in mission-critical environments.
  • Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages, preferably Python and C/C++.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with other AWS environments (Beanstalk, MediaLive etc.) and / or experience with software development for medical products or other safety-critical applications

One of the Co-Founders has 2 dogs, (named after batman characters) but they’re not on payroll !
