DevOps Engineer - Observability & Monitoring (Remote Poland)

As an Engineer - DevOps you will identify and implement optimizations, continuously drive enhancements to its operational state, define and promote best practices, design and plan the future of the service and the offering. You will work with Lead Engineers to continually align the service with the observability platform's vision. 
  
The Team:  
Within the Cloud Engineering, the Observability-Monitor Team owns implementing scalable solution for purposes of observability & monitoring (including logs, tracing & metrics). The team develops and maintains the infrastructure and whole observability platform. We implement a unified system for data ingestion & analysis, serving the needs of all engineering teams within the company. Our key challenge: to build a reliable, robust & intuitive platform, helping engineers across different areas with easy & user-friendly problem analysis. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to an Agile team that solves complex challenges and builds working software 
  • Produce high quality code fast 
  • Be a dependable and highly skilled development resource for peers 
  • Capable of learning and using new software engineering technologies 
  • Perform the following functions, in addition to others, in the administration of their position: 
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. 
  • Prepareand install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. 
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures. 
  • Encourage pair programming to communicate design knowledge throughout the scrum team 
  • Think out loud- talks about design thoughts all the time 
  • Provide development expertise to team members  through education and review 
  • Always open to new ideas and encourages innovative practices amongst peers 
  • Work collaboratively to encourage defect prevention over detection 

Your Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines 
  • 3+ years of software development of commercial-grade systems and applications with a proven track record of building and leading successful engineering teams 
  • Excellent Knowledge of the new technology trends and its applications for the new products in the market place. 
  • Experience in working with observability platforms (like: Splunk/New Relic)  
  • Experience with containers technology (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm),  
  • Experience with infrastructure as a code tools (e.g. Terraform/Chef/Ansible/ARM) 
  • Experience designing and developing highly scalable solutions in a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Google); Azure experience is a plus    
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub actions/Jenkins) 
  • Good knowledge of scripts languages (e.g.Powershell/bash/etc
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills 
  • Strong teamwork and partnering skills for cross-group collaboration 
  • Good communication 
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Development Methodologies 
  • Knowledge of service mesh is a plus
