DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer (Full-Time or Contract)

Omada Health is on a mission to inspire and enable people everywhere to live free of chronic disease. We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with an emphasis on security to help revolutionize the digital health space. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a role in designing, building and maintaining the systems necessary for rapid growth. You should be proactive about learning new technologies and ready to lead technical work.

What you’ll do:

  • Guide technical decision-making
  • Architect and design secure cloud infrastructures and networks
  • Mentor and collaborate on an agile, skilled team
  • Automate, automate, automate!
  • Instrument simple and effective systems for figuring out what’s broken and what’s going to break
  • Work with software developers on design and implementation of large scale distributed production systems
  • Help the team design and implement solutions to mitigate compromise and abuse
  • Monitor production systems and investigate anomalous activity
  • Test systems, networks and applications to identify weaknesses

What you need for this role:

  • Considerable full-time experience (2-3+ years) with some/most of the following:
  • Linux and shell scripting, like the back of your hand
  • AWS & EC2, ACLs, security groups
  • Infrastructure management: Terraform or similar
  • Configuration management: Ansible or similar, e.g. Chef or Puppet
  • Networking: designing, implementing and securing networks and routing systems, DNS
  • Monitoring systems: Nagios or similar
  • Security of systems and networks; authentication (LDAP), firewalls, VPNs, VPCs

Bonus points for:

  • Web application development and deployment: Nginx, Rails, Capistrano, or similar
  • Container systems/Docker
  • Cryptography
  • Exposure to HIPAA, PCI, NIST or other standards
  • DDoS mitigation solutions
  • Automated vulnerability scanners
  • Intrusion detection systems and honeypots
  • DBA experience, especially with PostgreSQL
