What you'll be doing

Your primary goal is to grow the consumer side of our business. And while we have a variety of channels from direct mail to Google Adwords, you'll be focusing primarily on the content, SEO and public relations (PR) side of things.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating awesome, engaging content and promoting it via different channels
  • Building lists of bloggers and journalists and pitching them ideas
  • Implementing process improvements to scale up what you've built
  • Managing freelance writers
  • Updating and reporting on campaign metrics

What makes this role so awesome?

Aside from being named as one of the top places to work by the Austin Statesman, there are a number of reasons why you might find this job interesting.

#1 - You'll learn more than you can imagine

From day 1, you'll start learning digital marketing and growth from some of the best in the business, period. Additionally, since we're young and growing fast, you'll have chances to take on more and more responsibility very quickly.

#2 - You'll have the support of an incredible team

Over the past years we've built out an incredible team - people with experience in companies like Google, Mckinsey, SpareFoot and Capital One.

Additionally we've attracted some of the best consumer tech investors in the world who bring experience from watching companies of the likes of Taskrabbit, Snapchat, Twitter, and Grubhub scale.

#3 - You won't just make an impact; you'll make a giant impact

As with everyone who joins LawnStarter, you'll be making an impact day 1. Growing our consumer base is and always will be the top priority, and this position plays a big part in that.

We're looking for aptitude and attitude over experience, but here are the four must haves for this role:

  • Excellent written communication skills: You can knock out articles with grammatical and stylistic perfection, and communicate effectively with people via email.
  • Ability to juggle multiple things at once: This is a role that requires multitasking - you must be organized.
  • Genuinely interested in the digital marketing space: Particularly the niches of content marketing and SEO.
  • You're willing to work hard: You're willing to put in long hours to accelerate your learning. Those aspiring to work 9-5 need not apply.

Experience in marketing, communications, or journalism not required, but a plus. Since this is an entry level role, we're really just looking for the brightest and hungriest to help take our growth to new levels.
