Primary Duties

As Director of Data/IT, you will spearhead the definition and execution of our software portfolio strategy, tailored to meet the unique demands of the US IVD market. Your focus will be on augmenting bioMerieux portfolio unique positioning and leading brands (e.g., BIOFIRE, VIDAS, VITEK) through transforming customer experience, driving innovation through continuous feedback to our global marketing and product development teams, on market insights, customer needs and competitive landscape.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Oversee and mentor a team of product and marketing managers within the US Data/IT marketing team, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team. Provide strategic leadership and alignment with global portfolio strategy.
  • Portfolio Strategy: Develop and lead the execution of strategies that align with global company goals and market dynamics. Collaborate with global marketing to localize the overarching portfolio roadmap for specific US requirements.
  • Solutions Positioning and Messaging: Defining and crafting the messaging and positioning of software solutions to communicate their unique value proposition, benefits, and differentiation throughout the customer decision journey.
  • Sales Enablement: Creating sales tools, collateral, and resources that provide the sales team with the information and assets they need to effectively demonstrate the value of the software.
  • Competitive Analysis: In collaboration with the Market Research and Insights team, monitor and analyze the competitive landscape to identify strengths and weaknesses relative to competitors' offerings.
  • Product Launch Coordination: Manage the development of plans for launching new products or features to the market, including segmentation, target audience identification and pricing strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a successful product launches.
  • Customer Communication: Oversee the crafting of customer-facing content such as case studies, whitepapers, and solution one-pagers to support sales and customer education and engagement
  • Product Forecasting: Utilize business intelligence data, market trends, and input from regional sales teams to create accurate forecasts for designated regions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global marketing, engineering and R&D, and all commercial teams to ensure alignment on regional solution strategies. Collaborate with regional sales teams to understand customer feedback, market trends, and sales challenges.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Monitor the performance of software solutions in the region and oversee necessary updates and improvements throughout their lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key point of contact for regional software-related inquiries and collaborate with stakeholders to address concerns and capitalize on opportunities. Present regional software strategies and updates to executive leadership and other stakeholders.

 

Training & Education

Bachelor's degree with emphasis on marketing and/or healthcare informatics and/or microbiology/laboratory science experience preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred. 
Experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience required.
  • 7+ years of experience in IVD/medical device industry (or functional equivalent) with healthcare informatics experience highly preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated success in developing, tailoring and executing healthcare software solution strategies for specific regional markets. 
  • Strong understanding of healthcare (laboratory, preferred) customer informatics landscape and needs. 
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a history of building and nurturing high-performing teams. 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate seamlessly across global and regional teams.
  • Experience in diagnostics, preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in commercial roles with increasing scope of responsibility. 

 

Travel Requirement

25% Domestic
