Role Summary

The Product team develops, delivers and optimizes a product portfolio of software and education products, from conception to launch and beyond. The Director of Delivery, will work across the Product team to establish, implement and evolve operating best practices, manage the progress and information radiator processes and outputs, and coach agile product teams to guide and optimize team performance. As a senior member of the Product team, the Director ofDelivery will be accountable for communicating overall delivery progress against the product roadmap, identify and eliminate blockers, establish patterns that teams can optimize against, and manage product rollout processes across the organization.

 

The Director of Delivery is an empathetic and compassionate leader who seamlessly balances driving rapid, valuable product delivery with helping to create and maintain high-quality products.  S/he excels at creating high-functioning teams, understanding how the strengths of one contribute to the whole team. The Director of Delivery will also manage 3rd party partners, issue triage, and optimize feedback loops.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work Prioritization and Information Radiators
    • Develop consistent patterns and standards for using JIRA to enable realtime progress updates to the executive team
    • Establish a project management and delivery gold-standard for all teams to work against. Guide team retrospectives to move all teams to this standard
    • Work closely and cross-functionally with operations, marketing, admissions, sales teams to establish clear rollout strategies for new work and manage issue triage and feedback loops
    • Play an active role in quarterly planning, new business development initiatives and strategic issue triage to quickly identify trade-off decisions and roadmap reprioritization
  • Team Delivery Optimization
    • Shape and guide a culture of continuous optimization of workflow and processes across GA; know when we should be strict and when we can be flexible
    • Participate in team agile ceremonies, and identify consistent themes and patterns, and coach teams to optimize delivery performance
    • Motivate and unify teams, bring people together to solve problems
    • Create a motivational, transparent, collaborative, fun, and trustful environment where teams can work efficiently and deliver high-quality products quickly

Your Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years agile team delivery/project management
  • Experience coaching agile teams
  • Experience managing a team of 3 or more people
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional, and/or matrix organizations
  • Experience with B2C and B2B businesses or revenue-generating products
  • Experience with using Atlassian products (JIRA/Confluence) to manage multiple agile teams
  • Excellent executive stakeholder management skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence – actively listens, courageously solicits and gives feedback
  • Passion for education and empathy for learners
  • Experience with teaching or edtech a big plus
  • Technical experience a plus
