Director of Content Strategy

Our Marketing Communications team is critical for educating and inspiring consumers to discover what they can learn about themselves through our platform, developing interest within our partner ecosystem, and educating the marketplace about what Helix is doing. 

You will have the opportunity to help build a small initial team and grow into a leadership role as the company grows.  This is an amazing opportunity to be one of the first marketing leaders in a rapidly growing, well-funded startup.  Marketing Communications is foundational to everything the Marketing team will do; you will play an instrumental role in developing and delivering our positioning, messaging frameworks, and content strategy across all customer touch points.   

As the Director of Content Strategy for Helix, you will:

  • Be one of the first marketing hires, responsible for developing our MarCom and PR strategy from the ground-up
  • Establish messaging and communications frameworks for various audiences; communicate our values and messages to consumers, scientists, and partners
  • Manage and create content across Helix platforms (i.e., website, mobile, email, social, partner channels)
  • Oversee public relations for consumer and B2B audiences
  • Develop and manage Helix social media channels
  • Establish an event calendar and manage all marketing activities for key events
  • Establish ongoing cadence for CRM communications to drive engagement and customer lifetime value

Required background:

  • 8-10+ years experience in B2C or B2B2C marketing
  • A proven track record of building and managing a MarCom function in a high-growth company
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to inspire a team
  • Expertise building media relationships and impact for early stage businesses through PR; experience running PR in-house and/or managing agency relationships
  • Able to quickly grasp complicated scientific / technical topics and translate into communications appropriate for multiple audiences (with support from company's technical teams)
  • Comfortable working with executive team and stepping into a leadership role in marketing

An ideal candidate will have:

  • MBA or other advanced degree in marketing
  • Demonstrated experience launching a new category, educating customers why they need a new product
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience managing and motivating a team
