Social security, our nation’s retirement safety net, is projected to be insolvent as soon as 2035, leaving employer-sponsored 401(k) plans as the primary vehicle for retirement savings in the U.S. Nearly half of all working Americans are employed by a company that doesn’t offer retirement benefits because it’s too complex and expensive to set up a plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it possible for small and medium sized businesses to offer retirement plans that give their employees a path to financial independence.

Human Interest is rapidly scaling and we need an experienced growth marketing leader to help us deliver our offering to a massive audience of SMBs that have been underserved by legacy 401(k) providers.


Reporting to the Senior Director of Revenue, the Director of Revenue Marketing will build a data-driven demand generation engine that reaches specific SMB market segments and drives conversion at every stage of the funnel. You will develop our growth marketing strategy and make important decisions about team structure, metrics, channels, technology, and budgets to achieve ambitious customer acquisition, retention, and ROI goals. This team is responsible for growing and expanding our marketing channels, increasing conversions from organic and paid search, developing and executing effective campaigns and setting up appointments for the sales team. In this role, you will manage an SDR team (inbound and outbound) and multiple marketing managers (Digital Marketing Manager, SEO Manager, Lifecycle Marketing Manager, Campaigns Manager). You’re the right fit for this role if you are passionate about accelerating revenue, comfortable rolling up your sleeves, thrive on problem-solving, and default to action.


You will also play a critical role on our newly created cross-functional Growth Team, working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to define a roadmap of initiatives that unlock remarkable experiences on and improve key touchpoints in the customer journey.

What you get to do everyday

  • Define the strategy and OKRs for full-funnel growth marketing programs and continually optimize performance
  • Manage a portfolio of proven and experimental marketing programs across channels (incl. display, affiliates, social, paid search, SEO, email, direct mail, and TV) to achieve ambitious acquisition goals and ROI targets
  • Design the attribution, measurement, and forecasting models needed to make investment decisions and measure performance at the program, channel, and campaign levels
  • Analyze the entire sales funnel to unlock conversion improvements and revenue acceleration opportunities. Leverage quantitative skills to interpret data and gain insights, and then translate these insights into actionable change
  • Support a growing sales organization by creating campaigns they need to accelerate their pipeline, including new channels for lead acquisition 
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, Revenue Enablement, and Sales leaders to effectively align strategy and execution with Human Interest’s go-to-market objectives
  • Own the marketing technology stack and related operations, including marketing automation and analytics. Establish the operating infrastructure (people, process and tools) needed to achieve performance targets, identify insights, and provide visibility into business results
  • Working in partnership with the corporate marketing team to have consistent messaging and positioning to maximize your contributions while supporting cross-functional initiatives

What you bring to the role

  • 8+ years of relevant experience (demand generation, campaign marketing, field marketing)
  • 3+ years of management experience of a team of 7 or more plus managing managers in a virtual environment 
  • Experience creating and executing on revenue growth strategies in SaaS environments
  • Insatiable curiosity for unlocking growth opportunities that increase marketing's ability to drive revenue
  • Deep analytical skills that fuel your curiosity and lead to insightful, data-driven decisions.
  • Execution focus and ability to quickly experiment, gather data, and then scale
  • A passion and affinity for collaboration to build relationships across teams, including vendors, business managers and external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional skills – you have the ability to think and communicate creatively, thoughtfully, and on your feet with diverse technical and non-technical team members
  • Comfort with defining goals, success factors, and key metrics for programs-and delivering against them
  • Proven ability to work effectively across marketing and sales organizations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth software company where change is a constant
  • Self-starter, ability to lead innovative, entrepreneurial efforts and drive for excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and execute detailed action plans
  • Able to function independently, as well as collaboratively with other team members
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Pardot (or other marketing automation software)
  • Extensive knowledge of paid marketing platforms (e.g. AdWords, LinkedIn, etc.) and research tools
  • An in-depth understanding of marketing technology platforms including CRM, CMS, marketing automation, and content management
  • Prior experience growing and scaling a high-performing team
  • A strong leadership presence and ability to influence and drive execution
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, Highspot and Outreach a plus
  • Prior experience managing an SDR team a plus
