Los Angeles, United States

Pollen.co is a marketplace for the experiences young people love - including music festivals, clubbing, travel, dining and more. We give our members exclusive access to some of the world’s best events and the opportunity to unlock incredible rewards for bringing their friends.

Pollen curates the best experiences for young people with a mix of the world’s leading entertainment brands - including Live Nation, AEG, React Presents, Avant Gardner, Printworks - and own-brand experiences that we create, perfectly tailored to the customer preferences of our members and their friends - our travel brands include Campus Vacations, SWAT, Lifestylez.

We have recently launched a number of co-curated travel products by partnering with major artists and promoters, and have had incredible success in a short space of time. We have launched a number of trips in Europe, including The Streets, Terminal V, We Are Festival, and in the US with Electric Zoo, and we have a large and exciting pipeline for the next six months.

As Head of Insights you will be responsible for spearheading the data-driven decisions the business needs to make to scale the curated travel part of our business. You will be joining an entrepreneurial team within the wider business who are responsible for both helping determine Pollen’s strategic direction and making those plans a reality. You will be the first hire in this important part of our business, which we hope to scale significantly over the next 12 months.

You should be whip-smart, analytical, able to apply yourself to a multitude of tasks, and a brilliant communicator.

Develop a strong understanding of the customer

As we scale our platform we are acquiring information on young people's preferences that no one else has. In this role, you will be responsible for being the “voice of the customer” using data as the foundation for all business decisions.

Excel at executing strong quantitative and qualitative analysis

In this role, you will design and execute complex market research projects using a range of quantitative and qualitative methods. You should have a strong grasp of analytical tools for both analysing and presenting your findings in a clear and concise manner, including but not limited to Excel and PowerPoint. You will have access to a team of analysts if needed to deliver compelling quantitative and qualitative research, which in turn will inform all business decisions.

Build out the Insights Team to be a high performing team

As we scale, Insights will become increasingly turnkey to our business. We are looking for a potential future leader in our business to lead the development and growth of the Insights team. In that role, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring more junior team members and building the profile of the Insights team in the business.

Build an insights “muscle” within the company to drive data-driven decisions

We want to build an insights “muscle” within the company, so to be successful in this role, the individual will need to be able to work with key stakeholders to build processes that integrates data into all decisions.

Excel at stakeholder management

In this role, you will be expected to work across multiple teams - at any one point managing multiple cross-functional insights projects. To be successful, you will need to be able to manage multiple stakeholders all the way up to the C-level.

About you:

  • 5-7 years experience - we are open to a range of experience - be it in strategy consultancy, online technology or as an entrepreneur - but we expect you to have consistently shown high achievement in your past roles.
  • Industry and customer knowledge - travel and music industry experience is a huge plus for the role, but we will expect you to learn anything you don’t know quickly and that you have a deep understanding of Gen Z audiences.
  • Analytical and entrepreneurial - we’re a data-driven technology company so you’ll be expected to use data to make reasoned judgements in everything you do.
  • A brilliant integrator - you need to have the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders expertly and project manage complex projects
  • A team player - we like each other at Pollen and work hard to foster a great work environment where everyone can succeed. It’s important to us that you fit in well with our team ethos.
  • Ability to travel - we’re a global team, with offices across Europe and North America, and destinations across the globe. As our business expands you may be expected to travel regularly domestically and internationally.

And we believe that to act as an owner you should be empowered to work in the way that enables you to deliver the best results – how and when you do is up to you. You choose your hours, where you work, the meetings you attend and the amount of holiday to take in order to create the most value and be at your best.

The perks:
