Job Overview

As the Director of Operations,  you are adept at “wearing many hats” and have a deep understanding of all aspects of fund operations. Additionally, you have specific, hands-on experience developing, implementing and managing the day-to-day operations of the company. You will provide the overall direction to the team of staff to ensure synchronized teamwork. You will also liaise with external stakeholders, including investors and service providers, with key responsibilities to build relationships and develop strategic collaborations.

Key Deliverables:

  • Responsible for mid-level strategic decision-making areas of the organization including negotiating and handling contracts with external counsel, maintaining OEMS/PMS systems, facing fund administrators and auditing firms, managing internal legal and compliance, establishing processes and procedures for all functional areas of the organization
  • Source external fund investments including meeting with founders, traders, and sales, as well as attending relevant networking events
  • Coordinate with internal teams in developing and driving initiatives through the trade lifecycle from initial on-boarding and pre-trade through to demarketing and client off-boarding to enable fast and efficient completion
  • Participate in new business processes including review of proposals and staffing allocations
  • Escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
  • Coordinate KYB across multiple exchanges for institutional account opening

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience at a hedge fund, family office, or comparable entity, and (except for the otherwise exceptional candidate) 2+ years of experience in the cryptocurrency space; Extensive knowledge of investment management industry with at least 5+ years of leadership experience within Operations or a related function
  • Bachelor degree from a recognized university. MBA, Juris Doctor, M.S. in Operations is a plus
  • Proven financial acumen, critical thinker with ability to provide a consultative and solutions-oriented approach
  • Strategically minded with a record of accomplishment of execution excellence, with a strong knowledge of control measures within the investment management industry
  • Hands-on, proven experience with negotiating deals, contracts, joint ventures and managing all aspects of relationships with vendors, service providers, and regulators
  • Prior success in establishing and achieving key performance indicators, short and long term priorities and ability to shift direction in a fast paced environment
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Able to travel to Taipei office on a frequent basis or for multi-week duration when necessary
