The Brydon Group is a private equity firm that partners with outstanding mid-career executives to acquire business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G), and healthcare software and services businesses. Brydon’s three founding partners have had multiple successful exits in software, multi-decade experience in large cap private equity (Blackstone, Carlyle) and bulge bracket banking (Goldman, JP Morgan), and extensive public service backgrounds. We closed our $100mm Fund I in February 2023 and have made six acquisitions in 2023.

As the Director of Portfolio Operations at The Brydon Group you will play a pivotal role in driving the talent acquisition and management for the firm. You will work closely with the Managing Partners and portfolio company management to recruit great talent to Brydon across CEO / CXO / board roles, create professional development programs, & build out portfolio best practices and go-to providers. This role will be a critical member of the early team, will serve as the talent & portfolio operations lead for the firm, and will have ample opportunity for growth.

We are looking for a Director of Portfolio Operations to assist with:

  • CEO-in-Resident Program:
    • Lead the annual Brydon CEO-in-Residence recruiting, application, and onboarding process
    • Serve as talent representative for Brydon Group at key industry conferences
    • Manage the execution of Brydon annual retreats and quarterly in-person training
  • Best Practices & 3rd Party Portfolio Advisors
    • Build out the Brydon portfolio best practices repository & information sharing across portfolio
    • Oversee the recruitment and management of Brydon key portfolio consulting partners across variety of categories (GTM, finance, pricing, etc)
    • Serve as go-to resource internally at Brydon to coordinate with Brydon portfolio companies on key value creation initiatives & help connect to key internal & 3rd party resources plus tools and templates.
  • Performance Analysis & Process Optimization
    • Work with Brydon GP & CEOs to build out high-functioning company boards and company advisors
    • Establish KPIs and benchmark to monitor and measure the success of initiatives across the portfolio
    • Create and optimize standard 100-day plans, monthly metrics, quarterly board reports, and annual budget planning
  • Portfolio Company Talent & Leadership Development
    • Support targeted CXO (CFO, COO, CIO) openings with direct proactive outreach & when applicable, partnering with targeted recruiters
    • Build out the Brydon Board talent pipeline for portfolio companies & support targeted board search openings
    • Create professional development programs for Brydon CEOs, CXOs, & mid-level staff at portfolio companies
    • Lead implementation of Brydon Operating System with implementation partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, graduate degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in consulting, talent / recruiting, and / or portfolio operations
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work well in an unstructured environment
  • Bonus points for passion and interest in small business, software, and/or private equity
  • High degree of integrity
