As part of the Restaurant Lifecycle team, you will help partner restaurants build their business by creating products and features they need to run their business better. The RLC team mission is to ensure that restaurants that choose our products are more likely to succeed in the long term than their competitors in this challenging segment of hospitality.

 

We are looking for someone who can manage the strategic direction of the Restaurant LifeCycle (RLC) team which is the focal point for restaurant management at OpenTable. This includes onboarding, upgrading, administration and churn. You will also oversee the team that supports our largest revenue generating product, as well as a small portfolio of additional products that offer a fertile test ground for future OpenTable initiatives. In conjunction with your engineering and design peers, you will work closely with restaurant customers, product managers, product support, marketing and sales to develop a multi-year strategy that delivers at scale domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate is someone who is looking to split their time among managing a small team of PMs, defining  a strategic vision for back office systems, supporting existing products (adding new features and addressing known issues), and developing plans to transition legacy features and customers to new products. Experience completing a transition from one platform to another - including building awareness, creating intent, streamlining migration, and providing post-transition support - with high customer satisfaction and retention, is a plus.

 

Finally, the ideal candidate uses data and metrics to evaluate problems and advocate for approaches and brings energy and playful curiosity to help the entire team crack complex business problems for restaurants.

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly understand our existing product lines including detailed understanding of customer profile by product, feature bundle in each product, and current use cases
  • Become internally recognized expert on streamlining acquisition, increasing restaurant engagement, and thinking about the future of restaurant product
  • Build internal relationships and influence shared roadmaps to ensure that the entire org is aligned on restaurant product strategy and moving as one toward that objective
  • Update, influence, and advise senior leadership on how company can address key challenges
  • Build a long-term strategy for lifecycle products including GCA, Upgrade systems, and legacy products
  • Communicate your product vision and priorities to internal and external stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Identify key success metrics, analyze the results of product changes, and communicate results and next steps to cross functional team members
  • Execute according to plan on your strategic vision and meet published targets for metrics that show progress against this vision
  • Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate individual contributors - focused on Product Managers
  • Manage quarterly planning and budgeting process for a team of 4 PMs, 25 engineers, and design
  • Provide monthly update on all aspects of Restaurant LifeCycle progress to cross-functional team of senior leadership and inter-dependent teams

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional experience in a product management including recent experience in a leadership capacity
  • Management experience mentoring and developing more junior Product Managers
  • Experience in managing agile development processes and lean methodology
  • Ability to demonstrate creative problem solving, thoughtful product scoping, and flexibility in a fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated track record of working with cross-functional teams and customers on well-planned solutions within a strategic framework that have measurable impact on the business
  • Proven experience coordinating many stakeholders and making decisions that support underlying business cases
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills working at all levels of an organization (from CEO to newest employee)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering, design and product marketing to set realistic goals and stay on track.
  • Understanding of user experience design principles and customer-centric solutions development
  • Must have experience in at least one of the following:
    • Restaurant or Hospitality technology development
    • SMB or Enterprise product development
    • Familiarity with OpenTable’s restaurant business and restaurant products
  • Passion for food is a plus.
