Director of Professional Services - Research

The Job

Our research team solves tough problems and invents new ways to battle fraud using big data and signal processing.  We are looking for a Director Professional Services to manage a team of highly educated, and high-energy research scientists that deliver our core value to our customers through professional services. In this role, the Director of Research Service Delivery will help refine the processes and tools we use to manage our customer engagements, oversee the day-to-day interactions our researchers have with customers, control resource planning and scheduling, and interface with customers to present the results of our work. We have technically challenging problems to be solved and must demonstrate thought leadership in the voice security space, so we need a leader who can execute our strategy on a daily basis by inspiring and growing a high caliber audio research team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of researchers and professional services engineers to deliver our core value to our customers.
  • Responsible for evolving the processes and tools used to manage our customer engagements.
  • Continuous improvement in process and implementing controls to increase efficiency and productivity of professional services practices.
  • Improve the team’s technical ability, utilization, and overall efficiency by establishing best practices and creating individual development plans.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership in Product Management and Customer Success team to deliver expected results.
  • Perform one-on-one performance reviews with all software engineers on a regular basis.
  • Develop status updates, reports and metrics.

Education and Experience

  • BS in a scientific or engineering discipline. Masters preferred.
  • 5+ years as a technical manager of professional services.
  • Background in machine learning required.
  • Strong collaboration skills with disciplines like Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Success.
  • Experience with time tracking and resource planning tools.
  • Substantial experience developing and presenting information to executive-level audiences.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Managerial skills and ability to grow people to their true potential.
  • Strong communication skills, both inward and outward.
