As our Director of Talent and Recruiting, you will help ensure our talent is ready to lead and excel in our ever-changing and fast paced environment. You will be a champion of RealtyShares’ core values and culture and will work directly with the CEO and other senior managers to propel the leadership capability and develop talent management processes to drive organizational effectiveness. You will also develop and champion our proposition to become renowned for attracting, developing and retaining talent. As a hands on leader, you will also have the opportunity to manage all hiring, talent acquisition, and human capital growth for RealtyShares.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

•   The Director of Residential Mortgage Operations is responsible for managing the processing, underwriting, and closing of residential mortgage production at RealtyShares.  RealtyShares lends exclusively to sponsors that are non owner occupiers with loans that have a business purpose.  RealtyShares's products include short-term bridge loans, rehabilitation (fix and flip) loans, cash out and refi loans. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   The Director is responsible for working closely with the Residential Debt Sales team by managing the loan process from underwriting through closing.  RealtyShares expects to originate $40 million in residential debt in the fourth quarter (200 loans), with expectations that quarterly volumes will increase by 25%-40% sequentially every quarter in 2017 and 2018.  The Director will support the rapid increase in originations volume by a disciplined increased in staffing, and by defining required augmentation in technology to support the growth.  Experience in recruiting and assembling a team in critical to the success of the Director.
•   The Director will continuously strive to improve the productivity of the mortgage operations team while adhering to high quality standards.  The director is also responsible for working closely with product management to define business requirements for systems to enhance the teams' productivity.  The Director will work with engineering/product team to automate business processes to set the company up for scale.
•   Maintaining SLAs are key success factors for the Director.  The director of mortgage operations is accountable for providing best-in class customer service standards, efficient pipeline management and loan throughput while maintaining post close quality assurance metrics and operating within established policy guidelines.
•   The Director of Mortgage Operations is responsible for managing key vendor relationships, especially with AMCs, vendors supplying background checks and credit bureaus, escrow and title companies, and other key vendors.
•   The Director will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer to make appropriate decisions regarding loans outside of company guidelines. 
•   The Director will partner closely with the Asset Management team to ensure smooth transition from closing of loan file to servicing and draw process.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  

•   5+ years of mortgage residential mortgage operations experience (experience in commercial mortgages is a plus as is experience in residential rehab lending)
•   Experience in multiple areas of the mortgage process, from underwriting, funding and post closing.
•   Familiarity with leveraging technology to further operational goals.  Experience with using standard desk-top productivity tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs)
•   Strong leadership and team building skills with a track record of managing teams of greater than 5 people.
•   Excellent communication skills; A self-starter capable of accomplishing complicated tasks with limited guidance.
