Job Summary:

Ruggable is looking for an incredible Director of Strategy and Business Development to drive strategic initiatives for the business. You should be interested in tackling a healthy mix of strategic and execution-oriented tasks while having the autonomy to make critical decisions to run our business effectively. This is a highly visible, important role with cross-functional exposure and role fluidity according to personal preferences and business needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited by the prospect of growing a business, wearing different hats and solving tough problems.

RuggableX:

RuggableX is Ruggable’s partnerships & licensing program - the makers of the amazing collaborations you see with Jonathan Adler, Architectural Digest, Iris Apfel, Morris & Co, The Home Edit, and more. We’re skyrocketed our growth in recent years and are looking for a leader to grow the business and ensure we maintain a stellar relationship with our partners over time. We’re looking for strong strategic, big picture thinkers who are excellent both at developing and selling a vision and being highly detail-oriented to ensure flawless execution. The right person balances systematic thinking, data-driven reasoning, and scrappy tenacity with a passion and eye for delighting consumers - and ideally has a creative intuition as well. 

  • Build out & evaluate partnership pipeline across categories, including forecasting partnership revenue potential
  • Own partner outreach and own proposals, negotiations, and general communication strategy - be the face of Ruggable to our valuable external partners
  • Manage partner onboarding & account administration
  • Partner with internal cross-functional stakeholders to ensure flawless execution
  • Track and measure ongoing performance across key metrics
  • Own post-launch account and partner management to support strong ongoing relationships

New & Emerging Distribution Channels:

  • Help set the strategy and own end-to-end execution of new omnichannel efforts, including identify high priority opportunities to pursue and developing a clear business case and strategic roadmap
  • Own and grow channel P&L to ensure high growth and profitability while minimizing cannibalization
  • Identify winning factors to ensure success in each channel
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors to ensure flawless execution
  • Own post-launch account and partner management to support strong ongoing relationships

Growth Strategy:

  • Drive development of our short- and long-term company-wide growth strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support ongoing and successful implementation
  • Track and measure ongoing performance, providing strategic and tactical support when needed
  • Provide ad-hoc support for select high priority initiatives, as needed

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

  • 5-7+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, private equity, or applicable experience at a F500 / high-growth start-up
  • Ability to own large projects and important relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly analytical and data-driven
  • Ability to both "sell" to potential partners and negotiate effectively, thinking quickly on your feet
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to synthesize findings into digestible formats, and communicate effectively with executive leaders
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces
  • Team player, hard-working, organized, and goal oriented
  • Thoughtful and self-reflective, with willingness to learn
  • Local to the LA area to be onsite 2-3 days a week

Preferred:

  • Experience securing and growing omnichannel relationships
  • Familiarity and comfort with partnership and licensing contracts is a plus
  • Ideally you have some experience and/or passion for interiors / the home

Compensation:

  • $130,000 - $170,000 per year base salary
  • An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
  • Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
