Our Operations team is seeking a Director to create, standup, and lead the Operations Control Center which will be the first of its kind supporting frontline execution of self-driving operations in all markets! This position reports to the Vice President of Markets.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Scope and standup the Operations Control Center to provide 24/7 support to frontline operations in all geographies, including responding to key issues
  • Build and lead a new, fast-growing, and innovative team
  • Create communication structures that provide leadership with a consolidated view of key operational events in all markets and provide frontline leaders with updates on policies, processes, or tasking
  • Integrate on-road incident response & crisis management capabilities
  • Define and standup specialized shared services, such as meteorology and law enforcement liaison
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with teams including Safety, Communications, Legal, Government Affairs, Security, and, as applicable, host relevant functional capabilities in the Operations Control Center
  • Work across Cruise teams to identify gaps/opportunities and improve our ability to operate more efficiently and effectively
  • Anticipate and tackle for any key risks and opportunities
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy

What you must have:

  • 10+ years industry experience, with 5+ years experience in a relevant function at a high-growth company
  • Impeccable decision-making & prioritization skills in complex, evolving, and ambiguous situations
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; natural problem-solver
  • Able to juggle numerous activities & projects simultaneously and with ease
  • Possess technical acumen, business expertise, and an ability to communicate with both Engineering and Operations teams
  • Comfortable with regular travel and on-call contingency support
  • Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the worl
