Netflix is hiring a

Director - Payments, EMEA

Amsterdam, Netherlands
Full-Time
At Netflix, we’ve built a platform scaled and connected to more than 195 million subscribers in more than 190 countries. This requires amazing content to spark member joy, but also strategic partnerships and payments initiatives that make it easy to sign up and pay for Netflix. EMEA is a highly strategic region for us as a driver for the company’s long-term growth. We have ambitious plans, tons of opportunity, and the passion to be the best in payments - that’s where you come in.

We are seeking a selfless, curious, and courageous leader who is skilled at leading across domains to join our lean payments team and contribute along with other senior members of our Payments leadership group. You will be the ambassador for Netflix in the consumer payments space across the region. You will have the opportunity to create and lead the payments strategy for all EMEA, be an advocate and ally for your team of regional experts and be part of a highly cross-functional, global team. This is a high visibility position which will report to the Vice President, Payments.

In order to be successful at Netflix, you must be able to anticipate and meet ever increasing business demands while demonstrating strong judgment in the face of ambiguity. You must thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and focus on generating results all while exhibiting the highest level of professional integrity.

We are looking for someone who:

  • doesn’t care about titles - you care about getting things done.  Netflix is a flat organization, which means even leadership is often asked to take on additional responsibilities at lightning speed without any pretenses.
  • is a strong partner for your peers but you’re an even better partner to those who report to you.  You encourage your team to decide what to work on, for them to own the big decisions and take calculated risks.  You’re there for them when they need help, but otherwise you stand out of their way.
  • is comfortable debating controversial topics with cross-functional peers and executives without any hand holding.
  • is passionate about payments, from talking about approval rates and decline codes to scheme rules.  You and your team are responsible for key payment metrics for your markets and derive actionable insights all in the name of improving the customer experience and business growth.
  • Qualifications: The ideal candidates must be highly analytical and a strong, proactive communicator with 10+ years experience managing very large Card Not Present (CNP) and/or recurring payments to scale and a history of successfully launching and scaling payments products with consumer-facing platforms. It is critical that the candidate has a long-term strategic mindset and clarity of thought in devising the overall payments strategy in the region. Ability to juggle multiple critical tasks.
