The Director, Portfolio Marketing will own Vox Creative growth strategies, develop and pull acceleration levers, evangelize excellence to customers and support Tier 1 business.  This role is also responsible for the marketing, go-to-market strategy and business development initiatives for diverse capabilities of Vox Media’s portfolio, including Audiences, Programmatic Capabilities and Partner Platforms.

The candidate should be a bold creative leader with deep experience in ad sales strategy and digital media. He/she will have the ability to liaise within the Portfolio Marketing team and enable organizational alignment towards critical business objectives, and should be an excellent communicator, motivated, and able to tie marketing initiatives back to business objectives. This position will report to the Executive Director, Portfolio Marketing and will be based in New York.

Key responsibilities across portfolio ownership (Vox Creative, Audiences, Programmatic Capabilities and Partner Platforms):

  • Accelerate business growth by partnering with sales to participate in high value meetings across all national markets, meeting with agency leads and strategic partners to share Vox Creative’s value proposition and introducing new ways of thinking around growth and new business
  • Develop and execute against a strategic marketing plan leveraging all relevant touch points including events, presentation materials, case studies, sizzle reels, industry awards, customer newsletters, corporate website, PR, thought leadership forums, and partnerships
  • Help evangelize the Vox Creative, Audiences, Programmatic Capabilities and Partner Platforms value proposition internally, ensuring sales, account managers, and executives can speak to Vox Creative articulately and accurately
  • Continue to build and refine Vox Creative’s brand name and awareness in the market and strengthen the positioning with key clients
  • Collaborate with Strategic Partnerships to identify key partners with assets or expertise beyond our own to help drive incremental revenue opportunities around branded content
  • Partner with PR on strategic media opportunities, identifying relevant executive speaking engagements, and strategy and client engagement around participation, activations, and sponsorships of industry events (e.g. CES, Newfronts, Cannes, 4A’s, ANA, dmexco, etc)
  • Collaborate with Events to create big, innovative go-to-market moments, proposing experiential concepts to support branded content programs
  • Ensure all messaging, materials, campaigns and launches are integrated across channels, delivered against due dates and executed flawlessly internally and externally

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8-10 yrs. in marketing, media or consulting
  • Strong executional abilities, with proven ability to manage projects that span content, digital/social, advertising, video, events, PR and collateral production
  • Understanding of content marketing distribution
  • Ability to build consensus among company leadership and relevant stakeholders to drive forward marketing initiatives to completion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated eye for design and creative taste level
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship development and leadership skills
  • Collaborative nature and deep interest in culture, high-quality journalism, and high-quality technology; highly motivated by insatiable desire to make great things
