Who we’re looking for:

You're excited to recruit and lead a team of marketers to build out an amazing brand to transform the video game industry. Skillz is the first mover in an industry formed to help solve the growing game monetization problem. We invented the concept of a cash tournament SDK and have the patents to prove it. Now we need an amazing marketer to figure out how to share it with the world of Developers.

What you'll do:

  • Work with the Product team to ensure the product roadmap fills the needs of what a developer will need in our developer portal and SDK
  • Build marketing process, evolve the Developer marketing team.
  • Build metrics/reporting/analytics to quickly gauge user response and understand user behavior.
  • Lead and grow our team of marketers.
  • Build and establish processes for Event Marketing at Developer conferences
  • Lead our marketing strategy, positioning and development from a Developer/Partner perspective
  • Work with the Developer Relations team to understand the needs of our partners
  • Create all marketing plans, initiatives, timetables, and follow them through to implementation to achieve our business goals.

Your skillz:

  • Prior experience as a CMO/VP/Director of Marketing with a successful track record of building, leading and managing a marketing team within a well-regarded and branded technology company.
  • Have successfully grown a marketing department from 0 or a few people to 10+
  • The candidate must be comfortable operating in a venture-backed environment while creating a larger than life company.
  • Experience marketing a B2B product (preferably a mobile SDK for Video Game Studios or as close to that as possible).
  • Experience creating and managing global, multichannel marketing budgets and processes.
  • Experience managing a growing advertising spend of hundreds of thousands to millions.
  • Strategic thinker that has the ability to build innovative marketing campaigns, combined with the tactical ability to execute.
  • Analytical and data driven orientation.
  • Raw intellect, talent and energy are critical.
  • Entrepreneurial - understands the demands of a private, high growth company.
  • Ability to be both a leader and hands on “doer”.
