About the role

As Email Designer you will be responsible for collaborating with the CRM team and other members of the design team to create engaging designs, driving sales and promoting the Buyagift and Red Letter Days brands.

You will sit within the Marketing department, reporting into the Design Manager.  The role will be predominantly working alongside the wider Design team, and CRM team. 

We are looking for a talented Email Designer with established skills in designing for CRM and email marketing. You must have proven experience within an e-commerce environment and the ability to both design and code responsive HTML emails. Although your role will primarily be designing for email communications, you will be called on to create graphics for social media, assist with website updates, wider campaign assets, occasionally designing and building landing pages, and other ad-hoc design tasks. There is scope to grow and enhance your skillset through this role, and a ‘can do’ attitude is essential! Experience with testing and optimisation would also be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Design & build engaging HTML email
  • Creating graphical assets for email, social media and web
  • Produce both graphics & code inline with briefs provided by the CRM and website teams, including page layouts and themes, email designs, site graphics and banners
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent company branding across all channels
  • Campaign creative - logos, mastheads and general 'look and feel’
  • Creation and deployment of HTML / CSS landing pages for campaigns
  • Meet stringent deadlines while having the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

About You

As a CRM Designer we'll count on you to bring creativity and innovation to every job you work on. Working alongside our website and IT team, you will be responsible for creating engaging design across a wide spectrum of digital and print mediums.

Key Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience
  • A solid understanding and experience of HTML, CSS, including experience of responsive coding for email
  • Must have experience with the Adobe CC suite, particularly Photoshop
  • Working to strict deadlines as part of a fast-moving ecommerce design team, while having the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • High attention to detail, with demonstrable written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation with an ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick learner with ability to think pro-actively and build solid working relationships with wider members of the business
  • An online portfolio of previous work

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Sketch highly advantageous
  • Use of Invision
  • Experience of working within CMS systems
  • Experience with the Bootstrap framework
  • Basic understanding of Javascript / JQuery
  • Any experience in usability and MVT an advantage
  • Print design experience an advantage

The eCommerce Team is a team of trade planners, website merchandisers, web designers, and conversion optimisation specialists.  Together they are accountable for ensuring the delivery of B2C sales and conversion targets with budgeted spend constraints.  The team co-ordinates across many different areas of the business, including online marketing and acquisition, buying, and IT.
