Email Marketing Specialist

The Email Marketing Specialist plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through collaboration and sharing best practices with the Digital Marketing team. You know how to be curious about their opportunities, and how to be real with feedback and support. 

As Email Marketing Specialist, you will be the email design expert. You will be responsible for creating mock-up designs for our email templates, analyzing current templates, and improving the overall email journey for our Lush customers. You will support the marketing manager in developing the themes, products and content for emails, and have a basic understanding of email KPI’s to enhance the overall email journey experience.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Marketing, the Email Marketing Specialist undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the marketing manager with email planning (themes, products and content)
  • Design email layouts, create new templates and use existing ones
  • Suggest and design AB tests with the intention to optimize email templates
  • Collaborate with the ecommerce team to ensure a seamless customer flow from email to website
  • Brief email content and assist with email testing
  • Align email marketing messaging with the campaign messages from other teams
  • Work with the creative team on asset requests and photo delivery
  • Review previous campaigns and make suggestions for improvements
  • Proofread copy (written by our in-house copy team) to ensure it fits the brief and email theme
  • Assist in the design of life-cycle emails (welcome journey, buy online pick up in store)
  • Create email designs for initiatives like product launches, seasonal campaigns, category marketing campaigns, store openings, closures, and events
  • Work closely with our email marketing analyst to analyze email performance Support with ad hoc duties as required 


You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in content creation, email marketing or graphic design 
  • Proven basic knowledge of email KPI’s (CTR, Revenue, Unsubscribe rate etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage priorities
  • Collaborative and adaptable



  • Photoshop knowledge (or other creative platforms, such as Figma or Sketch).
  • Experience with online analytics, such as Google Analytics (experience with Google Analytics is a plus)
  • Experience in proofreading copy
  • Experience in the beauty and/or consumer packaged goods industry is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Lush or similar retail environment is a plus
