Job Description

Refinery29’s Product & Engineering team is a critical and fast-growing part of the business. As we’ve grown, so have the platforms and services that we support-- including two websites, a proprietary publishing platform, a mobile website, a native iOS app, and various distribution channels (such as Apple News, Facebook Instant Articles and Google AMP). As the technology leaders at a media-first company, we not only create new features for our users and iterate smartly on our existing ones, but we also have a responsibility to support other parts of the business in tandem. Everything we do is measured against a high standard of quality to ensure a first-class experience for our users and preserve the integrity of our brand.

As a software development intern, you will have the opportunity to be mentored by one our seasoned engineers in making an impact delivering solutions across our Growth, Monetization and content Creation strategies.  You will get a chance to ship code on our tech stack that includes modern PHP, MySQL, Redis, ReactJS, and Node.  You will also collaborate with other parts of our Product and Engineering organization including QA, DevOps, product managers and product designers.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD in Computer Science
  •  Exploring the creation of products or solutions outside of school work
  •  Familiarity with RESTful API design principles
