We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who can lead a team of talented engineers to deliver full-stack solutions (from mobile and/or web, to backend services.) This role will lead a team who is focused on acquiring new users to the Greenlight Platform, as well as managing onboarding, which is a critical component to the journey of the families that we serve at Greenlight.

We are seeking someone who cares deeply about their team, coaches for high performance in a fast-paced environment, and works effectively with their counterpart in Product to keep the team focused on delivering incremental value. The ideal candidate has a track record of leading a team and shipping products at scale, and has experience managing a team of engineers. In this role, you will be working cross-functionally to implement solutions that integrate with the Greenlight eco-system. The ability to bring your vision to the engineering organization, advocating and getting buy-in for solutions, and outward looking management are attributes that will make you successful at Greenlight.

What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with the product, design, quality, operations teams to deliver high impact solutions
  • Effectively influence outcomes across multiple teams and with cross-functional partners, often requiring conflict resolution and managing ambiguity.
  • Build, support, and operate your services for use within Greenlight engineering and for our partners
  • Define and implement your team's processes in order to manage the SDLC and enable faster, more consistent, more reliable, and highly repeatable application delivery
  • Accountable for technical decision making for your domain, including tech specs, architecture / design, and tooling to achieve the right architecture and tradeoffs to maintain a high throughput.
  • Support your team and provide an environment where team members can thrive

What you should bring:

  • Bachelor or masters degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing a development team
  • Ability to coach for high performance
  • Software development background
  • Knowledge and experience with some of core technologies including NodeJS, Kotlin, React, Swift, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, AWS and other
  • Empathy for users and background talking to users
  • Written and oral communication skills for reporting on progress of work and impedimentsTrack record of driving development projects into production rapidly
