We've recently raised our Series C, and we are focused on bringing our technology to market. We will partner with customers so they can build natural language understanding and generation into their products with just a few lines of code.

Why this role? 
This is an exciting opportunity to step build the first Application Support Team within Cohere.  The ideal candidate is a hands-on, empathetic leader with a customer-centric mindset and an interest in Large Langauge Models.

Please Note: We have offices in Toronto, Palo Alto, and London but embrace being remote-first! There are no restrictions on where you can be located for this role.

As an Engineering Manager, Application Support, you will:

  • Hire and manage the team responsible for front line application support
  • Define and implement a plan to provide 24x7 support to Cohere customers
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • Support your team members' participation in on-call rotations to coordinate and resolve emergencies
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on technical and career development

You may be a good fit if:

  • You have led support functions at multiple companies, ideally at a technology company
  • You have a customer-centric mindset and enjoy solving problems with external technical users, like systems engineers, managers and infrastructure directors 
  • You are passionate about building internal tools - you take time to look at the big picture and make things better 
  • You take pride in growing your teammates, from their technical skills to their personal development
  • [Bonus] You are excited about Large Language Models and enjoy finding ways to improve internal functions using generative AI
