Responsibilities
- Create a motivating and inspiring environment in which people excel and continuously improve
- Identifying missing skills, evaluate maturity/seniority, and guide Team members to develop themselves and their career
- Coach Team members on how to manage different situations (conflict handling, absence of Team members, solve technical challenges, acquire a great deal of new knowledge in short time)
- Encourage Team to be proactive, independent, and get things done in an effective manner
- Communicate and collaborate with other Engineering Managers, Product Management and other disciplines
- Influence the product roadmap to consciously balance between speed of delivery and sustainability
- Attract, grow, and retain talent
- Take action on under-performers
- Support the design and delivery of new features for b_labs
- Maintain, test and modify development programs
- Provide guidelines, standards, and processes to support the development process
- Tackle and solve challenging problems with high success rate
- Organize and lead release process
- Create and maintain internal documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subject from a reputable university is preferred
- 9+ years of hands-on experience as a technical leader, technical individual contributor / engineering manager
- Solid programming skills in Go, Java, Python, and/or similar languages
- Strong systems design experience, having scaled algorithmic & ML solutions in products
- Proven record of delivering results even when requirements are under-specified
- You are able to write testable, reusable high-quality code and build the capability in team members
- Experience building applications with Popular JS frameworks and libraries (React, Angular, Ember, etc…) Python and SQL and Relational Databases, REST PIs design (JSON, XML, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices
- Deep understanding of continuous integration, automation tools, and processes
