Internship

Based: Cambridge, with travel to other sites and event venues

Rate: £18k p.a. equivalent

Basis: 6 month fixed internship

The Role

The Raspberry Pi Foundation’s mission is to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world. It’s a deliberately bold statement of our intent. Since launching our first product in February 2012, we have sold over 10 million Raspberry Pi computers and helped kickstart a global movement to get more people involved in computing and digital making. We’ve trained thousands of teachers and engaged hundreds of thousands of young people in our educational programmes, including our network of over 6,000 Code Clubs. Our free educational resources are used by millions of people every year. We are also working hard at building our profile and expanding our reach into new audiences of potential digital makers. We’re really busy planning our presence at a range of high profile events, and are therefore offering a fantastic six-month Internship opportunity for someone keen to get experience of events planning and management.

This role is suitable for anyone looking for events experience, or someone with a PA/Runner background who wants to get into events. You might be a recent graduate looking to broaden your hands-on experience, or someone more experienced who’s looking for a great opportunity to strengthen your CV. You’ll be assisting with flagship and high engagement events, which will be hard work and also great fun. This will be a dynamic and varied role, covering events of various sizes and audiences so you should be highly organised, flexible, and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. You will not need your own transport but you should be able and willing to travel, as well as to work occasional weekends (time is given in lieu for this).

We are looking for someone who has the organisational skills and proactive attitude needed to help us successfully meet our outreach goals. We would want you to be patient and positive minded, eager to learn and personable. We do a lot of our work online, so you should be effective in an electronic environment.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a unique place to work, with a fantastic team and positive work culture, so we are also looking for the right personality to fit in with the organisation.
