Events & Culture Lead

About the role:

As our Events & Culture Lead, you will support our client's global experience design organization and ensure an engaging designer experience through consistent, relevant events, programming, and skill-based initiatives. You play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a culture of learning and sharing in an inclusive environment that embraces diverse perspectives. You will partner closely with the Design Enablement Lead, Design Ops Coordinators and Design Leaders across portfolios.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and maintain a robust calendar of events and initiatives that encourage designers to learn, share and grow
  • Plan and develop cultural initiatives, design-led meetings, learning and development speakers/events and design critiques
  • Coordinate with design leaders and key partners to plan activities, for both local NY/NJ-based team members and global team members to interact with each other
  • Develop and manage the annual Design Summit event, an internal conference for the Design org to gather and learn from internal experts and external thought leaders, including logistics, agenda development, speaker coordination and events team coordination
  • Partner with the Design Communications Lead to develop a structured communications plan that builds awareness, excitement, and engagement
  • Coordinate with presenters and leaders to host prep sessions, ensure materials are finalized, virtual & in-person event set up is complete and post-event communications and recordings are shared effectively
  • Stay up to date with design industry trends, research and thought leadership
  • Engage with design networks, communities, and meetups to identify cross-sharing and speaking opportunities for designers

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 5+ years of work experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in design/creative operations, event production, marketing/PR, or agency management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to convey ideas effectively through slide presentations
  • Experience supporting in-house or consultancy design teams spanning design disciplines including product design, interaction design, visual design, content strategy, research, and engineering
  • A passion for teaching and learning from others to shape process and culture
  • Familiarity using Smartsheets, Airtable and other project management softwares
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $105,000.00 to $115,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package
  • This role will be performed fully remote with the expectation of working eastern standard hours
