Role overview 

CarGurus is seeking a talented Events Marketing Manager to join our dynamic B2B marketing team and mange our global events marketing strategy and execution to better support our customers, Sales team, business objectives, and CG brand. As our Events Marketing Manager, you'll have the autonomy to create the overarching events strategy for CarGurus and design exceptional event experiences from conception to execution that deliver measurable pipeline contribution, customer retention, and customer perception, leveraging your extensive experience and capabilities. You'll be responsible for executing innovative strategies for our extensive global events portfolio (tradeshows, sales customer events, speaking opportunities, and more), ensuring flawless event execution, and meeting overall marketing objectives, while working with various high-level and cross-functional stakeholders.

Through both your strategic and hands-on mindset, you'll make a significant impact by bringing greater value to the sales funnel and dealer experience, as well as have the opportunity to bring our global strategy and brand to life through events. What you'll bring

  • 7-8+ years of experience in B2B/Sales event marketing with a demonstrated understanding of the event space, trends, and best practices.
  • Previous experience working with the automotive industry a plus.
  • Expertise in event logistics and devising and implementing a global event marketing strategy
  • Experience collaborating with multiple key stakeholders and managing cross-functionally, as well as managing up to Executive Leadership Skilled in communicating strategy and vision, with the ability to influence key stakeholders, as well as effectively communicate results and the analysis behind it.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the dealer experience to stakeholders and implement into strategy to drive customer engagement and retention.
  • Strong familiarity with using CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo), as well as using the tools to drive strategy decisions.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing event planners and/or event agencies and contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful marketing events.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to adjust event strategies and incorporate new ideas based on results and trends.
  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating with vendors; can demonstrate deep understanding of financial impact of budgeting decisions and ROI on events.
