JOB DESCRIPTION

Carvana is growing at rapid speed!  The Expansion Team at Carvana is responsible for the growth and expansion of the company’s operations, most notably launching our operations in new markets.   The Expansion Team operates in a fast-paced, varied environment and is constantly changing.

The Expansion Coordinator will support, organize, and assist the Expansion Team in all areas of market launches, team planning, and creating consistency.   The Expansion Coordinator will perform activities relating to team coordination, organization, and administration. 

 

SPECIFICALLY, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

You must be prepared to help with all kinds of clerical, administrative, support, research, and general business organizational items.  This may include:

  • Arranging agendas and itineraries for our “Pre-Launch” week, Launch Week, and early stage market activities.
  • Taking impeccable notes and maintaining records of Expansion meetings and activities.
  • Coordinating the scheduling and travel for multiple people in multiple locations at once.
  • Maintaining project management records for up to 15 projects at once.
  • Researching and presenting information, options, and solutions on a WIDE range of issues ranging from finding the best driving courses in America to figuring out our new Market Operation Manager’s favorite wine.
  • Maintaining expense reports and tracking budgets.
  • Organizing & maintaining team travel records, contacts, meeting minutes, action items, and market expansion status.

 

THE QUALIFYING CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

This position requires an organized critical thinker that is interested in gaining exposure across Carvana’s operations.  Required skills include:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both internally and externally;
  • Strong Microsoft office skills (word, excel, and outlook);
  • Eagerness to find answers and solutions by making cold calls;
  • Maintaining a high attention to detail;
  • Incredibly high level of organization.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan for unforeseen outcomes.  This will require anticipating problems or questions before they occur and making sure the team is prepared. 
  • A willingness to learn new things.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a business administration role.
  • Experience with project management is a plus.
  • You have to understand the value of teamwork and how teams work…that was deep. If you disagree, read it again. Out loud if necessary.
  • Enthusiasm and energy to contribute to and thrive in a rapidly growing start-up atmosphere where roles continually adapt as the company evolves
  • Hiring is contingent on candidate verifying their eligibility to work in the United States and passing a complete background check.

The Expansion Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations - Expansion and will be a salaried full time position based at the Home Office in Phoenix.  No travel required.
