Experience Design Lead

Intersection is seeking an Experience Design Lead who can help make complex problems simpler. This role will focus on turning human­ centered insights into solutions. This includes a range of medium to large­ scale projects for a large retail client. Key activities include leading strategic planning, user research, developing concepts, communicating interaction and visual frameworks. This also includes close collaboration with clients, account management, strategist, development partners, and design leadership.

Job Summary:

The Experience Design Lead is a central role for complex and innovative products and services. They have an intuitive feeling for the way products should work and a deep understanding of what people want and need when it comes to holistic experiences. They can turn insights into concepts for integrated experiences and shape detailed direction to guide development. This includes a range of digital touchpoints, service design solutions and physical space related projects. Leads may often contribute to projects from the very start. First by working to align client goals and proposal scoping. They will oversee a small team of designers throughout different stages for strategy, concept and prototyping. A lead is someone who can be a team player, a mentor and a skilled client partner all rolled into one. They should be decisive and excited to push project teams to deliver exceptional quality work that solves business and user problems.


  • ­An impressive background creating experiences, services and applications. 5+ years of client experience.
  • Can make sense of complex systems and shape them into scenarios, requirements, and interaction / visual guidelines.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams in creating experiences, services and products that consider business challenges, innovation, and usability. Intersection is highly collaborative—we need someone who will not just listen but anticipate the needs, concerns, and input from teammates across departments.
  • Experience with executive level clients. Someone who is an expert at handling themselves and our clients in every imaginable situation including long-term planning.
  • Engaging presentation style and visual communication skills—you should be insanely excited about your work and know how to spread that enthusiasm.
  • Proven ability to help to influence the Design department offerings, manage and mentor junior designers
