Finance and Operations Director (Maternity Cover)

The Role »

We’re looking for a maternity cover for our Finance and Operations Director. This is a very dynamic and hands-on role working at the heart of our fast growing company.

This is predominantly a finance role, but you will also be responsible for the smooth running of all back office operations including Facilities & HR, with support from parent company Sony and other Directors within the business.

You are inquisitive, enjoy working in a fast paced environment and are confident to challenge key stakeholders.

Requirements

Responsibilities Include »

  • Lead on all aspects of finance across financial planning and analysis, financial accounting & reporting, and control & compliance
  • Influence the broader organisation, using sound commercial judgement to challenge key financial decisions
  • Analyse financial and non-financial information and identify issues or areas of inefficiencies, proposing solutions and managing implementation
  • Review and optimise workflows to improve efficiency and the ability to scale
  • Work closely with the Delivery & Ways of Working function to monitor client budgets/forecasts, activity and profitability
  • Manage the business finances inline with financial accounting standards and policies and maintain a robust control framework
  • Manage cash flow and working capital requirement
  • Ensure reporting deadlines to parent company Sony are met and information provided is accurate, clear and concise
  • Line Management of the Finance & Operations team and accountable for the delivery and output across the teams key areas of responsibility (Finance, Facilities & HR).

What we need from you »

  • Qualified accountant, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
  • HR & Facilities management experience preferred but not essential
  • 5+ years financial controllership experience, within an SME preferred but not essential
  • Experience in the management of forecasts and budgets
  • Ability to deliver fast ‘helicopter view’ commercial financial analysis as well as bottom up detailed modelling
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to closely liaise with broad range of stakeholders and communicate with demanding financial and non-financial people
  • Experience line managing individuals and putting in place processes and checks to support their professional development
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets manipulation, formulae development and dashboards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of working in managed service environment
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • An interest in sport is a bonus
