Financial Analyst

Box is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the Strategic Planning & Analysis team. The Strategic Planning and Analysis team is the financial planning arm of Box; ensuring our operations are in-line with our financial and long-term strategic goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for helping develop and execute strategic planning and resource investment decisions for a number of functions across the International business, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and G&A. You will develop deep partnership with executives, assisting them with resource investment decisions, headcount planning, deep financial analysis, and budget management.  

This role requires someone who can support world class financial forecasting, planning & reporting. In addition, you will play a critical role as an internal process champion  helping to improve existing financial workflows, develop more insightful reporting, build stronger partnerships across the company,and influence spending behavior across Box.


  • Drive the strategic & financial planning process for different functions that report in to each of our International Managing Directors (Japan & EMEA)
  • Manage budget and headcount, track ongoing performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations, and provide deep business insights to your business partners
  • Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle
  • Partner with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights in to different areas of the business
  • Use insights gained as a strategic business partner to pioneer new processes, reports, and analyses that will drive better spend efficiency across the entire business


As this is a highly cross-functional role, candidates are required to be highly analytical and very effective communicators. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of using analysis to influence decision-making, and be able to successfully articulate insights and outcomes to executives and peers.The ideal candidate should love tackling big, ambiguous problems with organizational and bottom-line impacts, love great process, and be meticulously detail oriented, insatiably curious, and full of integrity.
  • Finance degree from top-tier university with strong academic performance,
  • Proven experience in an accounting role. Demonstrable experience attacking large challenges, and using analytical insights and strong communication skills to influence decision making
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Financial Planning & Budget management experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills
  • Able to create and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
