As a Financial Analyst, the analysis you execute and your insights and recommendations will help make informed decisions by management. Gaining exposure to end-to-end financial operations will also help you to grow professionally and contribute to the organization’s success.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct the preparation and variance analysis of monthly financial results, actively participating in the identification of key metrics and the creation of drafts for presentations.
  • Assist in budget and forecast preparation, analysis, and reporting under the guidance of the Director of Finance, with a particular emphasis on maintaining up-to-date actuals.
  • Provide support and serve as backup for cash flow analysis and tracking.
  • Perform accounting tasks, including cash receipts, invoicing, and entering revenue and expenses.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of analytical tools and dashboards to assist consultants in managing their clients.
  • Assist with year-end tasks, including preparing supporting documentation and analysis, as well as interim and year-end audit requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, and accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc requests including system projects.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation for all related functions.
  • Act as a collaborator with the Partners in championing informed client financial management
  • Help present up to date metrics (like A/R) to the management committee with the Director of Finance, including providing information on expiring contracts etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant financial experience.
  • CGA/CMA/CA is an asset or pursuing a CPA designation
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to organize large volumes of data for analysis
  • Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience with building and maintaining financial models, visualizations and charts preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team as well as work independently
