Zesty is looking for its first finance hire, someone who is highly analytical, a motivated self-starter, thinks strategically and is passionate about Zesty’s mission. You will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for all finance activities, including accounting, financial modeling and partnering with key stakeholders across Zesty. As the first finance hire, you will have the opportunity to build and shape a finance organization and help Zesty scale from the Series A startup that we are today to beyond. Initially you will be tasked with leading the day-to-day finance operations of the company, but you will quickly be able to grow and develop a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all finance activities and build the finance team as Zesty scales
  • Partner with the management team to develop operational goals and answer key strategic questions
  • Lead preparation of board decks and assist in fundraising efforts
  • Ensure everything is accounted for properly, including AR, AP, revenue recognition, payroll, etc.
  • Develop and lead quarterly budgeting processes and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes for cash and the P&L
  • Manage and optimize our cash flow by ensuring cash operations run smoothly and improving our billing and payment processes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Deeply knowledgeable of accounting principles with a solid understanding of GAAP
  • 5-10 years experience, ideally including investment banking, management consulting or finance in a high-growth business
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams, including presenting strategic analyses and insights to leadership
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Previous experience of managing a team is a plus
