About the Team

The Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at Harry’s is part of Global Finance and is responsible for gathering, consolidating, analyzing, forecasting and presenting the financial and business performance of the company. The team plays a critical role in enabling management to make fast, data-driven decisions for the Harry’s brand, private label business and manufacturing in Germany.

About the Role 

As Manager of FP&A, you will be primarily responsible for the financial planning and analysis function of the private label and manufacturing business in Germany. You will be expected to lead budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling, analysis and developing and delivering presentations on the business.

This role will be based at our facility in Eisfeld, Thuringia. Eisfeld is located within an hour drive from Nuremberg, Erfurt and Coberg. The position reports functionally to the Global Director of FP&A based in New York with day-to-day direction from the Controller of Harry's Germany. You will work closely with the finance team and senior management in Eisfeld including significant interaction with the Managing Directors. You will collaborate across functions including manufacturing, operations, supply chain and sales and marketing. You will also work with the Global FP&A team, Global Controller, Global Treasurer, CFO and CEO/Founders based in New York. You will occasionally travel to the corporate headquarter in New York.

What you will do:

Budgeting and Forecasting for the German private label and manufacturing business

  • Drive the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes for the German business and contribute to the global process
  • Collaborate on monthly customer, unit and sales forecasts working closely with the sales and operations planning team
  • Work with the human resources, R&D and manufacturing/operations teams in Germany to forecast expenses and cost budgets
  • Own the long-term, three-statement financial forecast model including cash flow and debt covenants
  • Work closely with the supply chain and operations teams to forecast and track capital expenditures

Analysis and Presentation

  • Prepare monthly variance analyses comparing actuals against budget and forecasts. Present senior leadership with insights, trends, and highlights
  • Create and communicate monthly internal KPI reports and dashboards. Work closely with manufacturing/operations, supply chain and human resources to present key trends
  • Develop German sections of monthly business reviews
  • Assist the Controller and CFO in preparing quarterly financial reports and materials for lender banks and investors
  • Assist Global Finance in preparing quarterly presentations for the Board of Directors
  • Assist the Global Treasurer in tracking and forecasting debt covenant compliance and support Controller in preparing bank compliance reports
  • Support the CFO in the production of presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support Global Finance on any future debt or equity financing processes, through production of forecasts, presentations, and responding to due diligence requests
  • Provide ad hoc business and financial analyses/scenario models and detailed presentations to senior leadership

Financing and Debt Compliance

  • Assist the Global Treasurer and CFO in tracking and forecasting debt covenant compliance and preparing bank compliance reports
  • Support any future debt or equity financing processes, through production of forecasts, presentations, and responding to due diligence requests

The following should describe you:

  • 3-6 years of experience; at least 1 year of experience in a financial planning and analysis or business controlling role
  • Accounting, finance or business administration degree (Diplom/Diplom Univ, BA, MBA)
  • Fluency in German and English required
  • Knowledge of German GAAP
  • Master ability in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience with SAP
  • Background in investment banking, private equity or top-tier consulting is a plus
  • Ability to create impactful presentations, and know-how and comfort in presenting to senior leadership in a concise and effective manner
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive cross-functional consensus
