Requirements

About the Fraud & MSB Analyst role

We are looking for a Fraud & MSB Analyst to identify and investigate behaviors and spend patterns on our high-growth card program, collaborate with cross-functional teams and our customers, and to join our high-growth Risk team.

As a Fraud & MSB Analyst in our Payments & Financial Services group, your responsibility is to support the Risk team by monitoring alerts, engaging with and educating our customers, and providing suggestions and feedback to improve risk processes.

What your week-to-week looks like:

  • Fraud Support: Responsible for actioning the day-to-day alerts and queues related to fraud prevention, investigations and dispute processing.
  • Case Investigations: Monitor and analyze various types of information provided through different tools, reports and documentation to make strong decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build trust with our customers and internal Float team through great customer experience and fraud education.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed of fraud and AML trends and relevant regulations to assist in maintaining a Best in Class risk program for Float.
  • Education: Collaborate with different teams in the organization to provide education and give feedback on how our current fraud program can be improved and assist with implementation of the AML program.
  • AML Reporting: Responsible for escalating cases to Float risk managers for potential reporting of transactions to FINTRAC.
  • Special Project & more: as required.

You’ll be great in this role if:

  • You’ve got the experience. To be successful in this role, we’re looking for 2+ years of experience in fraud detection, investigations or credit card dispute management.
  • You’re Customer Focused. You have experience handling difficult situations while showing empathy and always thinking of how to deliver the best outcome for the customer.
  • You leverage data to make sound decisions. You can look at various sources of data and documentation, quickly assess the risk and take action. You can handle pressure, look beyond the obvious without stopping at the first answer.
  • You’re eager to continue your own learning. Scrappy and voracious, you want to know the ‘why’ behind every answer.
  • You’re a creative problem solver. Finding creative ways to work through obstacles is fun for you.
  • You love collaborating on projects. You are excited by the idea of working with sales, support and product to enhance the customer experience and improve our fraud program.
  • You’ve got an understanding of the market. You’ve worked within the banking space and understand fraud trends. Bonus: you have worked on credit card disputes in the past.

This role won’t be a fit if:

  • You are not a self-starter and do not like to work independently
  • You aren’t obsessed with your craft
  • You don’t like ambiguity
  • You don’t like regular feedback on your work
  • You prefer stability over change
  • You aren’t comfortable prioritizing your own to-do list
  • You don’t like to work remotely or asynchronously
  • You don’t have a very strong work ethic
  • You aren't a team player
  • You aren’t resilient
  • You have an ego

Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role, and you strongly align with our values but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this, or other future positions.
