Who we are:

Wayfair is looking for a dynamic Corporate Communications Manager to lead Corporate Communications in Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for reinforcing Wayfair’s positioning as the leading online destination for home as well as driving coverage that positions Wayfair as an employer of choice and leader in tech and innovation. 

The ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders  to surface relevant and compelling stories will be key, and a proven track-record securing high visibility coverage for key launches, service updates and news announcements across business and trade titles is another must. 

As well as driving coverage in the UK and DE, a priority focus will be raising supplier awareness across European markets including Poland, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Romania and Bulgaria. We are therefore looking for a tenacious candidate who can make inroads in new markets to help tell Wayfair’s momentum story and boost awareness to help drive supplier acquisition. 

Experience working in CSR would also be beneficial as scaling Wayfair’s corporate responsibility efforts in the EU in tandem with our Global team will be another key area of focus.

To be considered for this role, you must be a skilled multi-tasker who is adept at switching between work-streams in a fast-paced environment.

A demonstrated interest in eCommerce and an existing contacts book of media connections would be an advantage.  You must also be a strong writer who is able to develop flawless communications materials for both internal and external use as well as a sharp, strategic, critical thinker.  The role will report to the Head of European Public Relations at Wayfair’s Berlin based European headquarters, although work will be conducted remotely for H1 of 2021.


What you’ll do

  • Build excellent relationships with business and trade media across EU, primarily in the UK and DE, but also across IT, ES, PL, NL, BU, RO.
  • Manage awards and speaking opportunities to support key areas of the business
  • Work collaboratively and seamlessly with internal stakeholders to source relevant stories to support corporate communication efforts 
  • Contribute written content for internal and external communications (press releases, pitches, feature content, content for About Us corporate hub).
  • Drive media coverage around news announcements, product and service launches
  • Secure thought leadership opportunities for Wayfair’s executive team and coordinate executive media interviews
  • Support on employer branding efforts including approval and vetting of internal materials for rollout across multiple channels 
  • Work with CSR Global team to help steer, scale and communicate CSR efforts across Europe
  • New locations; partner with local reps’ comms teams &  internal stakeholders on comms and event support (ribbon cuttings, etc.) 
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting

What you’ll need

  • Significant experience in Corporate Communications / Media Relations
  • Proven track record driving coverage in relevant outlets
  • Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
  • Existing press network within technology, business and trade press
  • Organisational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Obsessed with quality; data-driven with experience in media tracking and campaign

  • Additional language-skills in Polish, Spanish, Italian and French are a plus
  • Self-starter focused on delivering results and growing the business every day

  • A team player with a positive, people-oriented attitude
