A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Fulfilment Operations Planner to join our Planning team on a 6 - 9 month fixed term contract, based at our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Dordon, Warwickshire. As a fulfilment operations planner within Ocado, you will be responsible for generating operational plans for Customer Fulfilment Centre’s, to include our newest, state of the art sites possessing our latest robotic technology. This is an integral role within the business, where you will be joining a team of planners involved in many aspects of warehouse planning, to include capacity planning, headcount planning and supporting a variety of planning projects.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain accurate Time and Attendance data for Ocado employees
  • To plan CFC manpower resources and make sure we have the right skilled people on the right shifts, days, areas etc
  • To generate weekly KPI reports
  • To deal with internal and external telephone, email and chat enquiries
  • To effectively manage Ocado employee's holiday entitlements in line with business restrictions
  • To deal with employee roster queries in a prompt and professional manner
  • To monitor overall headcount and raise concerns regarding shortages/surplus
  • To identify possible savings and improvements for the department and support their implementation
  • To work closely with analysts to forecast staff turnovers and put together shift schedules

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage and organise workload to ensure timescales are met
  • Strong administration skills and highly organised
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Previous experience within planning, preferably the logistics industry would be advantageous

The role requires a good standard of education and excellent communication skills as the job includes daily interaction with Ocado employees, management and other internal customers. There is a need for accuracy and speed to complete tasks and the ability to organise workloads to ensure timescales are met is essential.

This is a pivotal role that would suit a people-person with a strong administrative and customer service background along with strong analytical problem solving ability.

You will be an extremely organised individual who is able to multi-task and prioritise work within a busy environment and demonstrate your ability to work under pressure with multiple projects and large workloads.  You will also have excellent English, intermediate/advance MS Office skills, especially Excel, and excellent communication skills.

Working Hours:

This role will be working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per shift. As this role covers a 7 day operation, you will be required to work frequent weekends as part of a rolling roster pattern.
